Got questions?
Here is some information we hope you find helpful!
Shipping:
All orders are Spring Pre-Orders. We fill orders in the order they were received. If you are in colder weather, please notify us and we can attempt to reasonable accommodate shipping.
We ship via USPS in egg cartons that are protected by upcycled shredded paper and air bags. The box has fragile tape and stickers attached to it to create awareness to handle with care. However, oftentimes these boxes are on trucks and conveyer belts that do not read labels! While we make our best attempts at protecting the eggs, we cannot guarantee how the box will be handled by the postal service after it leaves our farm. Once they leave our farm, they are no longer in our control and therefore we can not guarantee their safe keeping.
All sales are final:
We strive to provide you with the highest quality hatching eggs available. We do not guarantee fertility or hatchability, due to circumstances beyond our control after the eggs leave our hands, such as rough handling by shipping services, temperature fluctuations during shipping, incubator errors, or buyer errors. We ship the eggs in the most effective manner necessary to help ensure that the eggs arrive in good condition. It is important to note that shipping can reduce the hatchability of eggs.
We cannot refund for broken, late, or damaged packages. All our shipments are insured with the USPS. You must send an email with a photo and place a claim with the postal service. We will not provide any refunds or exchanges once they have left the farm, whether in your care or the care of USPS.
Some of your eggs didn’t hatch:
The average hatch rate of shipped eggs is 50%. This means some could be 10%, and some 90%, and everything in between. If you purchase 6 eggs and 2-3 hatched, consider this a success! There is no guarantee of hatchability when you purchase fertile eggs. We strive for optimal fertility and viability, and want every customer to have a great experience. However, we cannot guarantee every egg will hatch. There are so many variables outside of our reach, including the incubation process and errors with the machine itself or operator error, temperature fluctuations, and rough handling. Each year, we ourselves hatch out eggs from all of our flocks as an eggstra step to ensure each flock is productive and fertile.
Eggducate yourself on the proper care of chicks and adult chickens:
We urge you to educate yourself about raising chickens. Chickens are sentient beings and chicken owners should always have the best interest of the chicken in mind. This means having adequate shelter, food, and healthcare. There is a wealth of information and misinformation on the internet, so please be mindful of this.
A note on incubators and the incubation process:
There are so many varieties of incubators in the market. Some great, some not so great. Please read the instructions thoroughly. We do NOT have control over your incubator or the process. The best advice we can give is to read the instructions you receive with the incubator. Incubating can be tricky, and some breeds are more fragile, requiring special attention. The most common error we hear about is people opening the incubator too often or unnecessarily over-handling the eggs.
